Paranormal Investigation of The Athenaeum hosted by Haunted Devon
If you want to be part of the Haunted Devon investigation team for a night then here is the perfect opportunity. We have limited places available for our September paranormal investigation. So why not come along and witness what the team do and what we encounter.
If you've never been on an investigation, don't worry our warm and friendly team will take good care of you.
Founded on 17 October 1812 as the Plymouth Institute, it was soon renamed the Plymouth Institution designed by architect and founding member of the Institution John Foulston (1772 – 30 December 1841). The Devon and Cornwall Natural History Society, formed in 1838, amalgamated with the Plymouth Institution in 1851. Foulston's original 'Athenaeum' was destroyed during The Blitz in 1941 resulting in the loss of the Insititution's library, art and museum collections. The Institution was renamed The Plymouth Athenaeum when it moved into its present building on 1 June 1961, which is located on almost the exact location of its pre-Blitz home.
So join us and be part of the team as we uncover stories of the past, and communicate with those who still visit The Plymouth Athenaeum in this over night investigation!
