Racing and fashion combine for Ladies' Day at Newton Abbot Racecourse

Horseracing enthusiasts and fashion fans are set to unite at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Tuesday 26 June for the social pinnacle of the racing season – Ladies’ Day.

The ever-popular fixture will see the two worlds combine for an action-packed evening to remember, filled with top summer jumps racing and some added glitz and glamour thrown in for good measure.

New for this year is the introduction of a Ladies’ Day village, situated in the Course Enclosure. Featuring companies such as Mad Eye Gifts, Jo James Jewellery and The Pretty Pash Co, racegoers will have the opportunity to peruse their offerings during their visit to the course.

Alongside the excitement of the evening’s racing, the competition will continue off the track as racegoers compete for this year’s titles of Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat. A specially selected team of judges will be walking around the racecourse to spot and select contestants to take part in the closely-fought final.

This year, racegoers will be competing for the chance to win an overnight stay for two in a St Austell Brewery hotel for the title of Best Dressed Lady.

Meanwhile the winner of the Best Hat competition will be walking away with an Afternoon Delight Pamper Session courtesy of Dart Marina Hotel and Spa.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse said: “Ladies’ Day continues to be one of our most popular fixtures of the season. It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy on evening out with friends and colleagues and with the wonderful warm weather we’ve been experiencing, what better location could you ask for?

“Whether you’re a regular at the races or this is your first chance to experience the excitement of an evening’s racing, Ladies’ Day is one fixture not to miss. We very much look forward to welcoming racegoers on Tuesday 26 June for another unforgettable event.”

Gates will open for Ladies’ Day at Newton Abbot Racecourse at 16.00 ahead of the first race at 18.00. The evening’s racing will culminate with The St Austell Brewery Handicap Hurdle race at 20.35.

Tickets for Ladies’ Day remain on sale priced at just £12 for the Course Enclosure and £19 for the Paddock Enclosure. Tickets can be purchased online via the racecourse’s ticket store until 10.00 on Tuesday 26 June or alternatively can be purchased on the gate on the day.
