Calling all beauty consultants

National charity, Look Good Feel Better, is in urgent need of Beauty trained volunteers to help run their Workshops for women with cancer in Plymouth

Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is a charity that provides practical advice for women and teenagers struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment. Their confidence boosting skincare and make-up Workshops and Masterclasses are held all over the UK and help teach women vital skills such as how to draw on missing eyebrows and eyelashes.

Every Workshop and Masterclass is run by a team of beauty volunteers, who take the women through a specially designed skincare and make-up regime.  The LGFB service provides beneficiaries with vitally needed advice and support in a lively and fun atmosphere as well as the opportunity to meet other women in a similar situation.

Workshops are held twice a month in the Mustard Tree Macmillan Centre at Derriford Hospital. LGFB urgently need to recruit new volunteers in the area to help run these workshops in order for the service to continue.  If you, or someone you know, is trained in skincare and/or make-up, and can spare a few hours to help boost the confidence of women going through cancer treatment, then please call Michelle on 07971 456 575 or email

Losing hair can be tough enough to cope with but the loss of eyelashes and eyebrows and the skin related issues faced during treatment can prove debilitating.  The aim is to improve the wellbeing and confidence of people undergoing treatment for any sort of cancer, helping to improve their self-image and appearance.

Look Good Feel Better was set up 23 years ago in the UK and annually supports around 17,500 women and teenagers through their Workshops and Masterclass plus thousands more through self-help materials.
