Do you want to have fun and help make a difference to Plymouth’s parks, nature reserves and wildlife sites?

A range of events are taking place across the city over the Easter holidays aimed at families.

Councillor Brian Vincent, Cabinet Member for the Environment for Plymouth City Council said: “These are great events for all the family – you can join in and help tidy up local parks and nature reserves in return for arty, crafty and edible family fun. The events are open to all and you can just turn up on the day.”

Here is the programme of events for the Easter holidays:

Saturday 28 March 10am to 1pm: Woodland Wood Nature Reserve – meet at the Ringmore Way entrance, West Park.

Monday 30 March, 10am to 1pm: Thamesford Gardens, meet at the park behind Thames Gardens and Blandford Road.

Wednesday 1 April, 2pm to 4pm: Beacon Garden Project, meet at Beacon Community Hub, North Prospect Road.

Thursday 2 April, 10am to 1pm: Efford Marsh, meet at the entrance off Deer Park Drive (Military Road end).

Thursday 2 April, 10am to 2pm: Weaving and Woodcraft, Ham Woods, meet behind Ham House.

Tuesday 7 April, 10am to 2pm: Cherry Laurel Chop, Ham Woods, meet outside Ham House.

Wednesday 8 April, 11am to 1pm: Kinterbury Creek, Barne Barton. Meet on the foreshore beach.

Thursday 9 April, 10am to 1pm: Aylesbury Crescent Orchard, Whitleigh, meet behind the park.

Friday 10 April, 10.30am to 12.30pm: Kings Tamerton Nature Reserve. Meet at the entrance way at the end of Priestly Avenue.

Also, on Friday 10 April from 11am to 1pm is the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at Plymouth Museum, followed by a walk up to Drake’s Reservoir. Attendees are encouraged to bring smart phones to take some pictures.
