Sparkling Christmas illuminations to light up four National Trust places in Devon and Cornwall

Four National Trust houses in Devon and Cornwal will be brightening up the winter evenings and looking their festive best with glowing illuminations in November and December.

The four historic houses will be lit up and visitors can stroll round gardens full of colour at Saltram in Plymouth, Coleton Fishacre near Kingswear, Knightshayes, near Tiverton and Trelissick near Truro in Cornwall.

Saltram: Enchanted Christmas
Dates from Thursday 22 November – 30 December, 12pm – 8pm
Brighten up dark winter nights with a stroll around the enchanted illuminated gardens and see the house magically decorated throughout with inspiration taken from some well-known fairy tales.

Knightshayes: Illuminated winter wonderland
Dates from Saturday 1 December – 30 December, 4pm – 7pm
From twinkling fairy lights to shimmering water; discover a hidden world swathed in colour as Knightshayes brings it’s garden to life with a bit of festive magic. Indoors, enjoy a warm welcome to the house decorated for a traditional Victorian Christmas.

Coleton Fishacare: Coleton Aglow
Dates from Friday 30 November – 31 December, 5.30pm – 8pm
Explore the garden at Coleton Fishacre as it is aglow with festive light. The streams, beautiful trees and exotic features of the garden will be lit for Christmas in spectacular fashion and the house decorated for a 1920s Christmas party this December.

Trelissick, near Truro
Dates from Friday 30 November - 23 December
See the garden in a new light as it becomes an illuminated wonderland at Trelissick this Christmas. Explore new pathways which will be showered with light as a new route around the garden is revealed.

All visits to the National Trust this Christmas contribute to the income and the care of these historically significant sites, as well as the ongoing management of the surrounding countryside and access.
