An enchanted Christmas returns to Saltram

Back again for the third year, National Trust’s Saltram will once again be aglow with even more lights, more trees, more fairy tales and open for more festive evenings to celebrate Christmas every night until 30th December.

The picturesque garden will be washed with a glow as an evening trail is lit up with a rainbow of colours and some magical moments for a third year running. The house, Orangery, Lime Avenue and some of the most loved trees will be lit for the festive period. Inside the Georgian mansion fairy tales are brought to life in each room, including Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Rapunzel and Pinocchio.

Fiona Macmillan, Visitor Experience Manager says, ‘It’s great that we’ve been able to bring back these Christmas celebrations again, the last two years have proved really popular, the lights in the garden and the fairy tales in the house has been a magical way to see in the festive season and see the house and garden in a totally different way.’

‘It’s also great knowing that as a charity each visit to Saltram supports our work looking after special places like this for future generations to enjoy.’

Saltram will be staying open longer for as the enchanted house, illuminated garden and winter courtyard cafe open from 12- 8pm every night from November 22nd until 30th December. The winter courtyard café will make a comeback where you can grab a blanket and snuggle up under the giant tipi with a winter warmer.

Families can book a special ‘Storytime with Father Christmas’ where he’ll be sharing some special stories and songs about what your fairy tale friends got for Christmas. Tickets are selling fast so book online soon.
