Classic film and theatre coming to Vue Plymouth in March

This March, some fantastic film and theatre is coming to Vue Plymouth as part of its Big Screen Events calendar.

On Sunday 24th March, the 75th anniversary of the events that are dramatised in classic film The Great Escape, Dan Snow will present a very special gala screening. The live event will be followed by a 4K screening of the film itself, in which a host of major stars including Steve McQueen and Richard Attenborough meticulously recreate the legendary escape of a group of British, American and Canadian POWs during the Second World War.

A host of theatre productions are also coming to the big screen at Vue, including one of last year’s most popular, Oscar Wilde Season Live: An Ideal Husband. This entertaining and still topical play brings an act of political sin into the English home as an ambitious government minister’s smooth ascent is threatened by damning proof of previous financial chicanery. Big screen visitors will have another chance to see this quintessentially English comedy filmed at the Vaudeville Theatre in London on Wednesday 27th March.

Johnny Carr, Event Cinema Manager at Vue UK and Ireland, commented: “As usual we are delighted to bring the best mix of live theatre, music, sport and some classic film screenings as part of our roster of events presented in the best quality picture, audio and surroundings.”
