Police appeal after pedestrian hit by car

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision between a pedestrian and a Fiat Punto on Saturday 13 May 2017.

Emergency services were notified at around 1.10pm to reports of the collision opposite The Pheasant Pluckers pub on Albert Road, Plymouth.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 45-year-old woman from Plymouth, received serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

Police closed the road for seven hours while a specialist forensic examination of the scene was carried out.

PC Dave Stephenson of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit said: “We are specifically appealing to a potential witness who is described as a white female of slim build with long blonde coloured hair and aged between 45-years-old and 55-years-old.

“It is believed that she was the driver of a dark coloured car that was behind the car that was involved in the collision with the female pedestrian. This blonde female took possession of a person’s mobile phone and spoke to the emergency operator.

“We are appealing to her to come forward as a potential witness.”

Officers from the Plymouth Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses to the collision and would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area prior or during the time of the incident.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact the team via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting log number 420 of 13/05/17.
