Burts Chips and Rockfish partner for SW launch of new limited-edition Fish ‘N’ Chips flavour
Award-winning artisan crisp brand Burts Chips has partnered with its Plymouth-based neighbour – premium seafood restaurant Rockfish owned by celebrated chef and restaurateur Mitch Tonks – for the launch of a brand new, limited-edition Fish ‘N’ Chips flavour.
Available from select retailers across the South West (RRP 79p for 40g), the new flavour is hitting shelves in June with an on-pack promotion for shoppers to win a fantastic meal at any of the 5 restaurants including the newly refurbished Plymouth branch.
The collaboration marks another landmark for Burts Chips, which won 12 outstanding awards at Taste of the West last month for its core range of hand-cooked crisps and has just celebrated its 20th anniversary with soaring sales results.
Sales director Simon Knights says: “We’re absolutely delighted to be teaming up with Mitch Tonks and honoured to stamp the Rockfish logo on our new Fish ‘N’ Chips flavour, which we developed together as a real homage to our Devonshire roots. Mitch is the ultimate seafood ambassador so we worked closely with him to ensure we got the delicate flavour just right. Burts Chips is committed to working with businesses in the South West and we’re proud that Rockfish joins our other local partners, including South Devon Chilli Farm and The Well Hung Meat Company.”
Restaurateur, chef and founder of Rockfish restaurants Mitch Tonks says: “I’m a big fan of Burts Chips, they make some really interesting flavours. I like the fact they fry everything by hand and work with lots of local businesses. There is loads of care that goes into what they do, they are the best crisps I’ve ever tasted, so it made complete sense for us to work together.
Featuring flavours of freshly battered fish and crispy chip shop chips showered with a hint of lemon and vinegar, the limited-edition Fish ‘N’ Chips flavour is sure to be a big hit with crisp fans and will be available while stocks last across the South West. Made from the finest locally sourced potatoes, Burts Chips’ crisps are all cooked in small batches to ensure each bag is full of premium crisps with real taste and proper crunch. The crisps are made with locally-sourced, authentic ingredients and are gluten free, as well as being free from added MSG, artificial flavours and colourings.
